0.89 M Tris, 0.89 M boric acid, 20 mM EDTA-Na2, pH = 8.3 ± 0.2, microfiltered.
TBE buffer for the preparation of sequencing gels and as a running buffer in electrophoresis.

The TBE buffer is ideally suited as a gel and running buffer system.
TBE buffer for the electrophoresis of nucleic acids with a higher buffer capacity than TAE. Can be used for DNA and RNA polyacrylamide and agarose gel electrophoresis. TBE buffer is particularly suitable for electrophoresis at > 150 V and yields for 0.1 ... 3.0 kb fragments than TAE.

Concentrated TBE tends to precipitate salts during storage. Shake before use!
