Becton Dickinson (BD) has discontinued the production of the Unopette system and recommends exclusively the equivalent TIC series from Bioanalytic GmbH as the official and original Unopette replacement.

The TIC system was developed by Bioanalytic GmbH and has been established on the European market since 1978. It has become the de facto standard for visual microscopic blood cell counting.

The Ery-TIC, Leuko-TIC and Thrombo-TIC test kits are in-vitro diagnostic medical devices (IVD), are CE marked in accordance with the European IVD Regulation (EU) 2017/746 (IVDR) and are FDA approved for the US market.
